It seems that the latest iPad Pro models will finally be able to reach their full potential, well, almost. The latest information suggests that the new iPadOS 15 software update would allow developers to make use of more RAM in their tablets, meaning that apps would be able to use more of the available memory in the M1-powered iPads to make them perform even better and faster.
Apple announced its latest 11 and 12.9-inch iPad Pro models back in April. They were expected to feature an Apple A14X chip, but surprisingly, we received something even better, as the new iPads pack the latest M1 chip under the hood. This chip features an 8-core CPU with 4 performance cores and 4 efficiency cores, 8-core GPU, and 16-core Neural Engine, making it 50 percent faster than the previous A12Z chip. However, changes don’t stop there, as this was the first time that Apple included 16GB RAM in the models with 1TB storage or more, while the ones that have less than 1TB storage would feature 8GB RAM.
Yes, this all seems great, but unfortunately, we found out that the new iPad Pro models weren’t giving us all the power they had inside. This is because Apple was limiting apps from making the most out of the iPad Pro’s hardware, as they can only use 5GB RAM, despite packing up to 16GB RAM. However, the latest iPadOS 15 update that’s already available for download for beta testers will allow developers to use up to 12GB of RAM of the RAM available in their iPads.
“An increased memory limit is only available on some device models. Call the os_proc_available_memory function to determine the amount of memory available. Higher memory use can affect system performance.”
The final version of iPadOS 15 will become available for the general public on Monday, September 20. But remember that you can already download the latest software version for your iPad Pro and iPhone by signing up to Apple’s developer program. The choice is yours.

We have fantastic news for those brave Apple users who decided to take part in the beta testing process of the latest iOS 15 and iPadOS 15. It seems that the final version of the software is already rolling out to Beta Testers, three days before the official launch that was scheduled for September 20, 2021.
Suppose you’re part of the Apple Public Beta tester program. In that case, we recommend you check your iPad or iPhone to see if the final version of iOS 15 and iPadOS 15 is already available for download. Our own Jaime Rivera is already downloading what seems to be the final version of iPadOS in his iPad Pro.
This update sparked his curiosity and made him grab his iPhone to confirm that it had the latest version of iOS 15 waiting for him. We believe that these are the final versions of iOS and iPadOS because previous updates read clearly ‘Public Beta’ along with the number of the update. In contrast, these last updates don’t include the ‘Public Beta’ text.
Remember that the final version of iOS 15 and iPadOS 15 will come with tons of great new features for both the iPhone and iPad. And you don’t need to wait until Monday, September 20, to update, as Public Beta testing is still available for anyone who wants to get first dibs and download this now. Jaime already tried it with two other devices, and in his own words, “it works like a charm.” So go ahead if you’re brave enough.
Developing…

It’s been three months since the trial has concluded, and Judge Yvonne Gonzalez Rogers handed over her ruling in the Epic Games vs Apple case. According to the ruling, Apple’s practices are anti-competitive, and the company must allow App Store developers to redirect to third-party payment options.
The ruling comes after Apple has made several App Store policy changes last week, including the option to allow developers to inform their users about alternative ways of paying for subscriptions.
The injunction states the following:
“Apple Inc. and its officers, agents, servants, employees, and any person in active concert or participation with them (“Apple”), are hereby permanently restrained and enjoined from prohibiting developers from (i) including in their apps and their metadata buttons, external links, or other calls to action that direct customers to purchasing mechanisms, in addition to In-App Purchasing and (ii) communicating with customers through points of contact obtained voluntarily from customers through account registration within the app.”
The injunction is set to go into effect in 90 days, and Apple must allow all applications to redirect users to third-party payment providers, which is a big win to Epic Games.
In other news, Judge Rogers also ruled that Epic Games breached its App Store contract when it updated Fortnite with a third-party payment option. For breaching the contract, Epic will be required to pay Apple $12,167,719 in damages.
“On the counterclaim, in favor of Apple on the counterclaim for breach of contract. Epic Games shall pay (1) damages in an amount equal to (i) 30% of the $12,167,719 in revenue Epic Games collected from users in the Fortnite app on iOS through Epic Direct Payment between August and October 2020, plus (ii) 30% of any such revenue Epic Games collected from November 1, 2020 through the date of judgment, and interest according to law.”
It’s currently unclear whether Fortnite will return to the App Store; however, Judge Rogers stated that Apple had every right to terminate Epic Games’ developer account last year for breaching Apple’s contract policies. As it stands, it is up to Apple to allow Fortnite back on the platform and on Epic Games to follow the new rules.
“Apple’s termination of the DPLA and the related agreements between Epic Games and Apple was valid, lawful, and enforceable, and (ii) Apple has the contractual right to terminate its DPLA with any or all of Epic Games’ wholly owned subsidiaries, affiliates, and/or other entities under Epic Games’ control at any time and at Apple’s sole discretion.”
Now that the Epic vs Apple fight is over, would you like Fortnite to return to the App Store? If you are a developer, what are your thoughts about the ruling? Let us know in the comments below!

Apple just announced that it will be hosting the next Apple Event on September 14, where it’s expected to announce the brand new Apple iPhone 13 series, potentially the new MacBook Pro devices, new and upgraded iPads, the Apple Watch Series 7, and a refreshed version of the AirPods 3.
The event is confirmed by the invitation that has already been sent out to the press, and Greg Joswiak, SVP of Marketing at Apple, has also posted a small video teaser, confirming the event will take place on September 14.
At the Apple Event, the company is expected to announce four new iPhone 13 models, namely the iPhone 13 mini, iPhone 13, iPhone 13 Pro, and 13 Pro Max. Apple is also expected to release the Apple Watch Series 7 smartwatch, and the AirPods 3 wireless earbuds, as well as the much-rumored iPad mini with a refreshed design and new display. The upgraded 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro and Mac devices are rumored to launch at a separate event, potentially later this month or in October or November.
The new iPhone 13 series are expected to be available for pre-order from September 17, according to rumors, and are expected to be available in-stores from September 24. The rest of the devices are expected to follow a similar release schedule, although it may differ in certain regions, and it could still change. The price of the new devices may be unchanged, although we heard several rumors that Apple may be forced to increase it ever so slightly due to pressure from the chip shortage that is affecting multiple businesses globally.
Are you excited about the upcoming Apple Event? Which of the new products are you most excited to see at the event on September 14? Let us know in the comments!

It seems that we will have to wait a bit longer to see Apple’s Child Safety Features in action. The company has announced that it will delay the rollout of this new feature after tons of negative feedback.
Last month, Apple announced that it would introduce new child safety features that would be coming to iOS 15, iPadOS 15, and macOS Monterrey. These new changes would allow Cupertino to scan users’ photos in the iCloud Library and iMessages to search for any kind of content that may indicate potential child abuse. Now, Apple has explained that these scans would only happen on the device, but that didn’t stop Apple users and security researchers from being concerned.
Since then, Apple has been in the eye of the storm. It has been receiving a lot of backlash from security researchers. And it’s also been confirmed that the company has been scanning iCloud Mail for CSAM content and other data since 2019. “Apple is dedicated to protecting children throughout our ecosystem wherever our products are used, and we continue to support innovation in this space. We have developed robust protections at all levels of our software platform and throughout our supply chain. As part of this commitment, Apple uses image matching technology to help find and report child exploitation. Much like spam filters in email, our systems use electronic signatures to find suspected child exploitation. We validate each match with individual review. Accounts with child exploitation content violate our terms and conditions of service, and any accounts we find with this material will be disabled.”
Now, Apple seems to believe that the best way to go is to put this new feature on hold, as the company has received feedback from customers, non-profit and advocacy groups, researchers, and others. The idea is to give Apple more time to improve how this new feature will work to avoid further issues.
“Last month we announced plans for features intended to help protect children from predators who use communication tools to recruit and exploit them, and limit the spread of Child Sexual Abuse Material. Based on feedback from customers, advocacy groups, researchers and others, we have decided to take additional time over the coming months to collect input and make improvements before releasing these critically important child safety features.”
Now, we will only have to wait and see when this new feature will rollout since it seems that Apple is still decided to include it in future updates of iOS 15, iPadOS 15, watchOS 8, and macOS Monterey.

We keep getting some amazing deals from Amazon.com. This time, we have found several iPad models getting very compelling discounts. First up, the latest Apple iPad Pro with an M1 Chip is currently getting a $100 discount on its WiFi-only model in Space Gray with 128GB of storage space. In other words, you can get yours for $999.
If you want the same power on a smaller canvas, the 11-inch iPad Pro is also on sale, but you will have to settle for just $50 savings, meaning that you can grab one for $749 on any of its two different color options, with 128GB storage and WiFi-only support. Now, you can also get up to $100 savings on the models with 1TB storage, meaning that you can get the 12.9-inch WiFi-only model with more than enough storage space for $1,699, or get the smaller 11-inch variant with LTE support with $1,599.
The iPad Air is also a great tablet, and you can purchase one for as low as $500 when you go for the WiFi-only model with 64GB storage. This model is getting a $99 discount, and the best part is that these savings are available across the board, meaning that you can also opt for the LTE variants and choose your favorite color option starting at $630. Finally, the 2019 iPad mini is also getting a $99 discount on its 64GB option with LTE support, which means you can get one for just $430.

In other words, you will be able to draw, write, and more with your new Apple Pencil for just $99. In addition, the Powerbeats Pro Wireless Earbuds are going for $180 after receiving a $20 discount. You can also get the Yamaha TW-E3 True Wireless Earbuds for just $63 after a $67 discount and get an AirTag Keychain Basic Case from Elago for just $8 after an 11 percent discount.

Believe it or not we have no official news today, which is a common thing when we’re so close to iPhone. Cause yes, we do have a lot of Apple things to go through so we’ll be splitting them on to different segments. Kicking this one off with the Apple Watch, it’s been 2 generations since we got some changes for the case sizes but, things might be changing this year. Apparently, along with the redesign we’ve discussed before, it looks like we’re getting some bigger Watches. According to a tipster that goes by the name of Uncle Pan, the Apple Watch Series 7 will come in 41mm and 45mm cases instead of 40 and 44 like we got last year. Of course, we should take this with a grain of salt but, this does go along with leaks form other sources like Mark Gurman that mentioned that we could expect larger displays on a similar or same-size chassis, so we’ll see if it does happen. Now, moving on to the iPhone, all of the dummies and renders so far show that the iPhone 13 Pro Max will bring a significantly larger camera model but, that might extend on to its other siblings as well. According to a new leak from Phone Arena, the regular iPhones camera hump will go up to 4cm from the 3.7 we got last year, while the Pro models will grow up to 4.5cm from 3.9 last year. If you’re wondering why the cameras are getting bigger, we’re supposed to be getting a new ultra wide sensor with autofocus capabilities, new lenses and sensor shifting image stabilization across the board. We’ll see what we get as we’re just about a week away from September.
Speaking of September, let’s talk about another product we’re expecting to get refreshed soon, the iPad. And we also have two different reports for this one so bear with me.. Starting with the entry level iPad, a new report from DigiTimes claims that we could be getting the 9th generation iPad in September. The report mentions that sadly it won’t bring any significant design changes but, we can still expect it to boost iPad shipments as much as 60 million in the next year. This report also reiterates that we could be getting an iPad with a titanium build soon but, with the pandemic still going on it wouldn’t be the right time considering that would definitely be a pricy upgrade. Finally, DigiTimes also claims that Apple believes that this is the best time to launch an iPad mini, so let’s also talk about that. We have some new concept renders from iDesigner based on the leaked design. We get to see the squared approach once again with the slimmer bezels but, one difference here when compared to Prosser’s renders from a few months ago is the color variants that go along with the iPad Air’s palette, instead of the colors we usually get for Pro models. Just to recap some of the specs, we’re expecting this new iPad mini to bring an 8.4-inch Liquid Retina Display, it’ll be powered by Apple’s A14 Bionic, and will bring up to 256 Gigs of storage. Apparently we’re finally getting Apple Pencil 2 Support or even a rumored smaller variant, in addition to 5G as well as Touch ID in the power button. I’m really excited for this iPad so let’s see what happens next month.
And as a palette cleanser, let’s shift gears on to Samsung and the Galaxy S22 Series before we get to the hottest news. We have a new report from Tron that claims that Samsung is willing to remove some hardware from their upcoming flagship in order to cut some costs. We know that the company alternates between different kinds of cooling when it comes to their flagships, sometimes we get graphite thermal pads while others get a vapor cooling chamber. On Tron’s latest tweet he says that the Vapor chamber cooling that was present in the S10 Series will not be added as of now in order to save costs. Apparently the mobile team was planning to clock the new Exynos chip with the AMD GPU higher to get better performance and less throttling with the use of the vapor cooling chamber but, higher management decided to go back to square one in order to cut the expenses down. Tron claims that the mobile team is currently waiting on a decision from the VP on whether the cooling chamber will be added or not, and if not, they’ll be going with the same heat dissipation design we got with the Galaxy S21 Series, which does tend to get hot from time to time. So bottom line, nothing is set in stone at the moment but, it looks like higher management wants to bring the price down but by sacrificing some performance for it, at least when it comes to the Exynos variant. We’ll see what happens because I’m all for the better price tag but, not by sacrificing performance.
Finally, for the hottest news today, let’s move back on to Apple but this time we’ll be talking about MacBooks. We’ve been waiting on the new MacBook Pros for months now and multiple leaks claim that we’re finally getting them in the next couple of months but, it looks like Apple might be changing their strategy. According to a new tweet from Dylan who has a pretty neat track record, he claims that it is “comforting to note that both MacBook Pro’s that are coming this fall will have the same chip and the same performance, completely changing the usual strategy most PC makers follow, and definitely a win for those who like to opt for the smaller variant. Just so everyone understands, I am referring to the 16 and 14-inch Pros both bringing the same M1X chip”. So, it looks like for the first time, the only differences between the 14 and 16-inch Pro MacBooks will be the display size, the battery size and most likely the starting CPU or GPU cores and clock count. But by the looks of it, you’ll sort of be able to configure these to the same potential thanks to the M1X chip, allowing you to have a beast inside a 14-inch laptop. Dylan does mention that the bump in specs will result in a notable increase in the price tag over the 13-inch MacBook Pro, but we don’t know if he’s talking about the M1 which starts at 1299 or the Intel variant starting at 1799. Another thing that might add on to the price is the mini LED display but we’ll see how that goes. If you haven’t, I highly recommend you watch yesterday’s After The Buzz on the 16-inch MacBook Pro as I tell you how much of a mistake buying that computer was.

Netflix is rolling out support for Spatial Audio on iPhone and iPad. Spatial Audio enables an immersive experience, bringing theater-like multi-directional audio to your earphones.
The feature was first spotted by a user on Reddit and then confirmed by Netflix to a lot of publications. Now, when you play a TV show or a movie on Netflix that has multi-directional audio, you’ll see a dedicated Spatial Audio toggle in the Control Center of your iPhone or iPad.
Spatial Audio is available in both iOS 14 and iOS 15 and also requires an AirPods Max or AirPods Pro to work. In addition to these requirements, you’ll need an iPhone 7 or newer, or an iPad 6th gen or newer for the feature to work.
Apple says that Spatial Audio creates a movie theater-like experience that takes advantage of the gyroscope and accelerometer in the iPhone, iPad, and compatible Apple headphones.
By applying directional audio filters and subtly adjusting the frequencies each ear receives, spatial audio can place sounds virtually anywhere in space, creating an immersive surround sound experience.
iOS 15 builds on the Spatial Audio feature bringing multi-directional audio to non-Dolby Atmos content. The feature would allow iOS users pretty much any song or video in Spatial Audio.
If you don’t see Spatial Audio in your iPhone’s or iPad’s Netflix app, make sure you update to the latest version from the App Store. If you have the latest version, you may have to wait a bit as Netflix says this will be a slow rollout.
Have you tried Spatial Audio yet? How’s your experience been? Let us know in the comments section below!
