Now, we have recently entered the back-to-school season, meaning that we will start to see tons of discounts applied to these and other devices in the market. But OnePlus is giving us something else, as the company has announced a limited edition OnePlus 9 Pro Snackable option. This new variation will get you the latest 9 Pro with the ultra-fast Warp Charge 65T in the same package. Unfortunately, supplies are extremely limited to just 20 devices, out of which 15 will make their way to OnePlus fans.
OnePlus fans in the United States and Canada are the ones who will have a chance to win one of these 15 devices, starting from today, Monday, August 23 at 1 PM ET, until Friday, August 27 on the company’s official Instagram channel. Still, if you don’t win one of these 15 devices, you can also get a new OnePlus 9 5G with a 50 percent discount when you add a line at T-Mobile, which means you can get your new device for $365. OnePlus has become one of the most successful companies in 2021. Its new selection of Nord devices, plus the latest OnePlus 9 series, seem to have helped the company become the fastest growing OEM in the US in the first half of 2021. The company has also reported amazing numbers in the global market, as it achieved a 257% YoY shipment growth globally for the first half of 2021. Now, it seems that we may soon add a new device to the company’s lineup for this year, as we have started to receive rumors of a new OnePlus 9RT.
Earlier this year, we received information suggesting that OnePlus was not going to launch a new device as part of its T series, which didn’t come as a surprise, considering that last year’s iteration only gave us a OnePlus 8T and not a Pro version. However, the latest information from Android Central claims that OnePlus may still launch a new flagship device, the OnePlus 9RT. The new flagship could arrive in October, and it is expected to be an improved OnePlus 9R. Unfortunately, the OnePlus 9RT will also be limited to select markets, India and China, which means that you will have to try hard if you want to get one in the United States.
The new OnePlus 9RT is expected to feature the same 120Hz Refresh rate AMOLED display as in the latest OnePlus flagships. It could also feature a Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 processor, a 4,500mAh battery, and support for 65W charging. Rumors also suggest that it will bring the 50MP Sony IMX766 as its main shooter.
The OnePlus 9RT may also be the first OnePlus device to run OxygenOS 12 based on Android 12 out of the box. This version will emulate the appearance of Color OS, but it will still offer the OnePlus Launcher and features like Work-Life Balance, Zen Mode, Scout, and more.

We have spotted several Samsung deals in the last couple of days, in case you want to check those out, but today we find that last year’s Samsung Galaxy Note 20 series is on sale at Amazon.com. First up, the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra is getting a $250 discount, which leaves this unlocked variant with 128GB storage selling for $950 on your choice of Mystic Black, Mystic White, or Mystic Bronze.
The smaller Samsung Galaxy Note 20 is also on sale. You will find it going for $800 after receiving a #200 discount. This phone is also factory unlocked, and it’s available on its Mystic Bronze, Mystic Gray, and Mystic Green color variants. Remember that Samsung won’t give us a Note series refresh this year, so you would still have the latest Galaxy Note available in the market.
However, smartphone deals get better when you head over to OnePlus.com, where you will find last year’s OnePlus 8 getting a massive $300 discount, which leaves it available for $399. This device comes equipped with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage space. And if you want the latest OnePlus 8T, you can get one with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage for $549 with $200 savings.
We have also found some deals on the latest Apple Watch SE Nike Edition that’s currently selling for $329 at B&H. This model comes on its 44mm variant with a Silver Aluminum Case, the Pure Platinum/Black Nike Sport band, LTE support, and a $30 discount. However, you can also get the 40mm model with GPS connectivity for just $249 with the same $32 savings at Amazon.com.
We have also spotted several Nintendo Switch games on sale, starring with the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate that’s currently getting a $14 discount, leaving it available for just $46. Mario Golf: Super Rush is now available for $50 with $10 savings, or get the latest Legend of Zelda Skyward Sword for the same price.
Finally, we have also spotted the Xbox Wireless Controller on its Electric Volt color option selling for $56, which translates to $9 savings. This option usually sells for $65, and the best part is that it comes completely new, and it will be available with any of the latest Xbox gaming consoles.

2021 has been a rather interesting and exciting year for OnePlus. The company has launched tons of new affordable devices thanks to its popular Nord series, while its main series is now considered to be in the flagship category. And even though we may not get a new OnePlus 9T Pro or a 9T at all, it seems that the company is heading in the right direction, as recent reports show amazing growth.
OnePlus is a different company from the one that gave us several flagship killers years ago. It is now a different beast. According to recent information from CounterPoint Research, OnePlus was the fastest growing OEM in the US in the first half of 2021, reaching 428 percent YoY growth. You can’t deny that this is rather impressive, considering that the company entered the US Market just three years ago with the OnePlus 6T.
Still, things get even more impressive when we find that the company has recently announced its global shipment numbers. “Global technology brand OnePlus today announced a significant milestone for its global smartphone shipments, reporting a 257% YoY shipment growth globally for the first half of 20211. The brand also achieved significant sales growth across each of its key markets including the United States, Europe, India and China in the first half of 2021, driven by its global smartphone portfolio including its latest flagship series, the OnePlus 9 series, and its new mid-range products, the Nord and Nord N series.”
What’s even more amazing is knowing that OnePlus has managed these amazing numbers while the tech world is still being affected by an ongoing pandemic. Pete Lau, founder of OnePlus said, “Despite a number of significant global challenges, 2020 was a remarkable year for OnePlus as we updated our business strategy to expand our user base. This year, we continued to strengthen our flagship offering by taking a big step in building a truly premium camera system with the OnePlus 9 and 9 Pro, while introducing even more accessible products with the OnePlus Nord product line. The growth we see now demonstrates that our approach to offering a premium experience together with competitive pricing is in line with our community’s needs.”
We will have to wait and see how the company’s new decisions may affect or improve these numbers. Remember that rumors claim that OnePlus may skip this year’s T series, but that may be because of the global chip shortage, meaning that we could get a new T device next year. Also, OnePlus has recently joined OPPO, which will give us more years of major upgrades, and who knows what else.

Once again, the official news today begin with deals and if you’re looking for a laptop, it’s your lucky day. Starting with the Razer Book 13 which is 170 dollars off, that means you can get the Intel Core i7 variant for 1430. If gaming is your thing, the ASUS ROG Zephyrus Ultra Slim laptop is getting a 276 dollar discount, and you actually get some very nice specs for 1592, but just keep in mind the GPU is a bit outdated. Samsung’s 15-inch Galaxy Book Pro is also 150 dollars off, so the base model is available for 950 bucks. To conclude with laptops, yes the MacBook Pro still has a 200 dollar price drop, leaving the base model for 1099. For those of you on the market for a smart speaker, the Google Nest Mini is available in a 3 pack for 64 bucks, saving you 83 dollars in the process. Finally, the Amazon Echo Buds are also 30 dollars off, leaving them for 110 but you can save an extra 25 percent if you trade others in. We have more deals on LG Monitors and Earbuds and you can still reserve your devices for Samsung’s Unpacked in the first link in the description to get some crazy good perks.
Let’s stick to official news for a second and this time, we’ll be talking about Nothing. And no, this is not a terrible pun from Diego. I’m talking about Carl Pei’s company as they finally launched their first product after months of teasers. These true wireless earbuds are called the ear (1)s and they bring a pretty interesting transparent design that actually looks pretty cool. Each earbud weighs 4.7 grams and they come with a soft silicone tip for a better seal. Both earbuds bring a 31 mAh battery that can last up to 4 hours of ANC playtime or 6 hours without ANC. However, the charging case gives you an extra 24 hours with ANC on or 34 hours if you decide to switch it off, a 10 minute charge will give you one hour of extra play time. They offer Bluetooth 5.2 connectivity, different levels of ANC and Google Fast Pair Support. They are priced at either 99 Dollars, Euros or Pounds and are currently available for pre-orders at Nothing’s Website. I mean they look pretty cool and have a very competitive price tag, let’s see how good they sound..
And speaking of Carl Pei, how about if we talk about his previous company. OnePlus at this point is usually gearing up for whatever T series we usually get, right? Well, on a new tweet from Max Jambor, in his typical fashion he simply states “No 9T“. And, this doesn’t really come as a surprise as last month, a leak on Weibo claimed that OnePlus would scrap the 9T Pro, like they did last year where we only got the regular 8T and no upgrade for the Pro. Now, if you’re a fan of the T variants and are wondering why the company would skip it this year, even though we don’t have any official information, it kinda makes some sense. For starters, we’re still going through a global chip shortage which has affected almost every company’s release dates. On top of that, OnePlus recently announced that they would be further integrating their brand within OPPO so that could be another reason. And to top it off, apparently OnePlus found some great success with the 9 Series as they were the fastest growing OEM in the US for the first half of the year with a crazy 428% Year over Year growth, with the closest company being Motorola with 83%. So poor sales are definitely not one of those reasons, but we’ll keep an eye out on any updates since we still have time for Q4.
Now, how about if we switch to the product I really want Apple to release – that new iPad mini. Rumors have been ramping up over the past week or so and now we get some sort of confirmation for previous report. See, a Ming Chi Kuo report from back in May mentioned an 8.5 to 9-inch iPad mini and now, a new tweet from Ross Young mentions that the iPad mini will bring an 8.3-inch display. He explains in another tweet that it’s growing from 7.9-inches due to the slimmer bezels and the removal of the home button. There was a couple of mixed reports saying that the home button was staying but, now multiple trusted sources agree that Apple is going for more of an iPad Air-esque approach with the boxy design, slim bezels and Touch ID in the power button. Other leaks mention that this iPad mini would be powered by the A14 or even the A15 chip, it’ll now bring a USB-C port instead of a lightning port and a smart connector. It might also bring a mini-LED display but with recent shortages we doubt that it’ll make the cut and Ross Young didn’t provide any details on that front. Apparently we can expect it to launch some time in Q4 or with the iPhones in the September Event, let’s see what happens.
And finally, for the hottest news today, let’s talk about Samsung once again as things are getting very interesting ahead of their event. On a new blog post, the company’s head of mobile addressed a bunch of things we’ve been questioning this year and even set some expectations for what we can expect on August 11th. On the statement he pretty much confirms a lot of the rumors. It starts with him saying that they are out to set new heights and open up a new world of exciting experiences for people.. He says he hopes we join him to debut their next Galaxy Z Family which brings some foldable surprises, including the first ever S-Pen designed specifically for foldables. He then went on to confirm that there is no Galaxy Note this year, as they will broaden beloved Note features to more Galaxy Devices, and in the meantime we should set our calendars to see what the future holds. Yesterday we saw some renders for that S Pen as well as the case that’ll be used to hold it on the Z Fold, and if you think of it, the idea of not being limited to get note features on just one device or a batch makes sense. You should be able to pick the form factor you want, and get the full experience regardless. They also leave some pretty high expectations which are also backed up by that IPX8 certification leak we got from Evan Blass yesterday, which finally allows for us to use foldables more freely as a tool.

Earlier this month, we’ve reported that OnePlus has been optimizing its Oxygen OS in a very strange way, in fact, it was so strange, Geekbench even delisted the OnePlus devices from its benchmark application. OnePlus has confirmed later that the optimization was on purpose to improve the experience and to save battery life, to improve heat management on the device after prolonged use, but many were not convinced of OnePlus’ good intentions.
OnePlus went even as far as stating that today’s high-end chipsets are far too powerful just to browse the internet and look up recipes, which is a valid point. Still, the company should’ve stay transparent and open about it from the beginning, which is how all of this drama could’ve been avoided. Geerkbench, for one, thought of this as a way of cheating, hence why it deemed it important to remove the OnePlus flagships from the list used by a number of media outlets and tens of thousands of other users.
As a result of the controversy, OnePlus has confirmed that it plans to address the issue in Oxygen OS 12. A OnePlus employee confirmed that the company would soon add a toggle to enable and disable the performance optimization feature in the next version of Oxygen OS.
“Thank you all for your feedback and suggestions on this topic. Our R&D team is currently working to add an option to let you turn on/off this optimized mode. Our aim is to have this ready for one of the first builds of OxygenOS 12 so you will have better control over the performance of your phone moving forward. We just want to say, this has been a really important reminder for us to always keep our users at the heart of what we do, so thanks again for your feedback.”
