It was last week that Xiaomi unveiled the Mix 4 smartphone, also marking the first flagship smartphone that dropped the “Mi” naming for western markets. The new Mix 4 sets the standard for the all-screen experience with minimal bezels and a “Camera Under Panel” that hides the front facing camera behind a few pixels. Over the weekend, Xiaomi published the official unboxing video for the Mix 4.
The unboxing video shows the Mix 4 comes in a considerably large box. Included is a 120W wired fast-charger and charging cable.
The Xiaomi Mix 4 has a curved 6.67-inch AMOLED screen with a 20MP selfie camera embedded behind the display panel. Xiaomi’s Camera Under Panel hides the camera behind illuminated pixels when it’s not being used.
The Mix 4 is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 888+ coupled with 8/12GB of RAM and 128/512GB of storage. The 4,500 mAh battery is recharged by the 120W fast charger with the ability to fully charge a depleted battery in just 15 minutes using the faster boost mode. The 50W wireless charger takes 28 minutes using boost mode.
The Mix 4 has a 108MP main camera with OIS, an optically stabilized 8MP periscope zoom, and a 13MP ultrawide camera. The phone starts at CNY 4,999 ($770) and sales have kicked off this week in China with international availability not yet detailed.
